Overview

The best eskate motors money can buy, developed in-house by Radium. Hundreds of hours of simulation, testing, and refinement lead to what are now renowned as the toughest, most efficient, most power dense motors of their class.

Save money in the long run and buy motors that last - Properly sized and sealed QUAD NMB bearings, 220C rated windings, 150C rated N45 magnets, high quality epoxy, uniquely front mounted sensors, thick 2.5mm steel cans, tight tolerances and Loctite used liberally, our motors are built to handle eskate abuse.

V7.2: Upgraded cooling & appearance. Improved balancing. Recessed circlip, 30mm mounting pattern added.
V8.0: Increased rotor stiffness, upgraded sensor system, shielded sensor cables, added wave spring, 4.0mm AMASS bullets to suit newer Makerx ESC's.

  • Dyno verified peak power (15 seconds)- 8397W (245kv/48V), 7026W (205kv/48V)
  • Continuous power depends on your setup, riding style and climate.
  • 10-21S Voltage
  • 64mm diameter, 85mm length
  • Curved N45SH magnets rated to 150C
  • Battle hardened (magnets reinforced with additional epoxy)
  • Quad NMB bearings - replaceable
  • 2.5mm thick steel rotor for impact protection and improved magnetic flux path
  • Cooling system with mesh protected air intakes
  • Front mounted sensor PCB to eliminate electrical noise
  • High quality enamel windings rated to 220C
  • Multi-core flexible Teflon hall sensor wires with 2.0mm JST connector (vesc plug & play), 40cm length
  • Red 12awg silicone phase wires (30cm) with 4.0mm AMASS bullets
  • 8mm shaft with keyway, 30mm length
  • 10mm shaft version is also 30mm length
  • 44mm & 30mm mounting pattern
  • Maximum operating temperature of 100C (recommend adjusting default Vesc settings to 100C start 115C end, and Beta value to 3950k, otherwise motors will not reach 100C)
  • Recommended motor controllers: Makerx DV6s, D100s and G300
  • Each motor weighs 1100g

Setup & tuning

Kv selection guide

Match your motor Kv to your battery voltage. Use the Normal column for most builds; Racing Kv suits higher-speed setups with compatible controllers.

VoltageNormal useRacing
10S245
12S205245
14S173205
16S151173
18S138151
20S138

Please note: not all controllers are compatible with race-use Kv. We recommend the Normal Kv for controllers based on VESC 4.12 and Stormcore.

Recommended VESC settings (per motor)

Suggested values for normal use, with absolute maximums you should not exceed.

Cells (Li-ion)AmpsSuggestedMaximum
12SBattery60A100A
12SMotor120A180A
16SBattery45A75A
16SMotor90A135A
18SBattery40A65A
18SMotor80A120A

If your ESC is not capable of the suggested motor amps, choose a lower Kv than the selection guide shows — e.g. for 12S with Stormcore / Focbox / 100A DV6, use 173Kv instead of 205Kv for normal use.

Frequently asked questions

Which Kv should I choose?

Lower Kv (e.g. 125–138) gives more torque and top-end on higher voltage setups; higher Kv (205–245) suits lower-voltage builds wanting speed. Match your Kv to your battery voltage and gearing — if unsure, tell us your setup and we'll point you the right way.

Are these motors sensored?

Yes. Every motor uses a front-mounted sensor PCB with shielded hall-sensor cables and a 2.0mm JST connector — VESC plug-and-play out of the box, with electrical noise designed out at the source.

What changed in V8.0?

V8.0 adds increased rotor stiffness, an upgraded and shielded sensor system, a wave spring, and 4.0mm AMASS bullets to suit newer MakerX ESCs. V7.2 brought upgraded cooling, improved balancing, a recessed circlip and the 30mm mounting pattern.

How tough are they really?

Battle-hardened: magnets are reinforced with additional epoxy, the rotor is 2.5mm thick steel for impact protection, bearings are sealed quad NMB units, and Loctite is used liberally. Built specifically to handle eskate abuse and last.
